The instruments uses a D2 (deuterium) lamp and a WI (halogen) lamp as the light source.
The D2 (deuterium) lamp and the WI (halogen) lamp are used for ultraviolet region (190 nm – light source switching wavelength) and visible/near-infrared region (light source switching wavelength – 1100 nm), respectively.
The closer the lamp service life comes to its end, the smaller the light intensity of each lamp, and the greater the noise in photometric value.

WARNING:
• Before replacing the lamp, turn "OFF" the power and remove the power plug from the outlet.
If the instruments is powered, it may result in fire, electric shock, and instrument malfunction.
Do NOT turn "ON" the instrument while the light source compartment is visually exposed. Ultraviolet light may be generated and cause a serious health hazard.

• Before replacing the lamp, turn "OFF" the power and leave it until the lamp cools down sufficiently.
If you touch a hot lamp, it may result in a major burn.

CAUTION:
• When removing and installing the light source compartment cover, avoid hitting the protrusion on the top of the D2 (deuterium) lamp against the back of the cover.
Doing so may cause a vacuum leak in the lamp tube.

• Wear protective gloves when replacing the lamp.
If fingerprints are left on the glass of the lamp, they will burn onto the bulb when the light source gets hot and the amount of light may decrease.
• Be careful not to break the lamp.
• When replacing the WI (halogen) lamp, cover the D2 (deuterium) lamp with a clean paper or cloth or remove the D2 lamp before the work.

• After inserting the WI (halogen) lamp into the socket, Do NOT forcedly move it to right and left or up and down.
The connection part between the pin and glass may be damaged, which makes it impossible for the lamp to illuminate.

2. WI (halogen) lamp replacement
1) Cover the D2 (deuterium) lamp with a clean paper or cloth or remove the D2 lamp.
CAUTION: If you touch the D2 (deuterium) lamp and fingerprints are left on the glass of the lamp, they will burn onto the bulb when the light source gets hot and the amount of light may decrease.
2) Wear protective gloves.
3) Pull out the WI (halogen) lamp from the socket.

4) Insert a new WI (halogen) lamp into the socket.
Push it forward until the pins reaches the back of the socket and stop.

HINT: The two pins of the WI lamp do not have polarity. Therefore, you can install it regardless of its orientation.
5) Reinstall the D2 (deuterium) lamp to the original position.
When you covered the lamp with a paper or a cloth, make sure that it is not left in the light source compartment.

6) Install the light source compartment cover by the reverse procedure of that described in "Removing the light source compartment".
7) Insert the power plug into the outlet, and turn "ON" the power (Press the "|" side on the switch).
9) Check that all items are initialized successfully.
10) When the Mode menu is displayed, reset the accumulated lighting time of the WI lamp.
3. D2 (deuterium) lamp replacement
1) Wear protective gloves.。
2) Slowly extract the D2 (deuterium) lamp upward to remove it from the socket.
