The IRTracer-100 has a self-diagnosis function. The IRTracer-100 automatically checks its own status during operation or startup. When all items have passed, the IRTracer-100 can be used normally. The contents of the self-diagnosis are described below.
Items checked when the IRTracer-100 starts up or when [Measurement]-[Diagnostics] is executed:

« Self Diagnostics during Initialization »
Click [Instrument] on the scan toolbar in LabSolutions IR and select [Initialize]. Initialization of the IRTracer-100 starts and self-diagnostics are performed. The results of the self diagnostics are recorded in the operation log.
When a test item passes, "Pass" is recorded in the log. When an item fails, "Fail" is recorded in the log.
When a test item passes, "Pass" is recorded in the log. When an item fails, "Fail" is recorded in the log.
If [Laser] or [Light Source] failed, the applicable part must be replaced. Please contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.
If [Humidity] failed, the humidity inside the interferometer may have increased, which may damage the optical element. In this case:
1 Remove the AC power cable immediately and do not use the IRTracer-100.
2 Remove the top cover and replace the silica gel immediately. Click here for Replacement of Silica Gels.
3 Then contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.
Because "Power spectrum" measures a power spectrum with no sample in the sample compartment, remove any samples and accessories from the sample compartment. If this test was failed by interrupting the beam, you can execute self diagnostics in LabSolutions IR after initialization.

3 Then contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.
Because "Power spectrum" measures a power spectrum with no sample in the sample compartment, remove any samples and accessories from the sample compartment. If this test was failed by interrupting the beam, you can execute self diagnostics in LabSolutions IR after initialization.
If this test was failed with the sample compartment empty, confirm the scan parameters first. Then execute [Auto Adjust]. If the test is still failed after auto adjustment, the beam splitter might be damaged. Please contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.
