(FTIR) Dry Indicator, Humidity Lamp - IRSpirit

There is an orange lamp as a Humidity lamp on the left-top of front of the instrument.
The orange Humidity lamp is lit when the humidity in the interferometer of the FTIR is sufficiently low, even if the start switch of the instrument is off. Confirm that the Humidity lamp is lit.
If the Humidity lamp is not lit, check that the AC power cable of the IRSpirit is connected and that power is being supplied. If power is being supplied correctly but the Humidity lamp is not lit, the humidity inside the interferometer may have increased, which may damage the optical element.
In this case:
1 Remove the AC power cable immediately and do not use the IRSpirit.
2 Replace to new silica gel immediately.

  NOTE: The indicator silica gel is blue, purple, and dark purple. If the color of the indicator silica gel turns pale red, including the area around it, replace it with a new one.
3 Then contact a Shimadzu sales or service representative.

 

For paper indicator check when optional dehumidifier is not installed.

Check the color of the paper indicator in the Silica gel case is blue.
Replace to new silica gels immediately if the color of the paper indicator is white or pink.
