NOTE: You will use two spanners (WAF 9/16 in.) and another spanner (WAF 7/16 in.) to replace the sample filter element. Alternatively, you can use two monkey wrenches. Have either set ready beforehand.
• Replacement Procedure
1. Close the sample piping valve between the pure water system and the TOC-1000e to stop the inflow of the sample.
2. Stop the instrument.
Shut down the instrument, and turn off the main switch.

WARNING: Do NOT open the front panel of the instrument while the power is still on.
Doing so may cause electrical shock.
CAUTION: Do NOT start parts replacement before the instrument has finished draining.

3. Remove the sample filter connected to the sample piping that leads to the sample port on the right side of the instrument.
1) While holding B in place using a 9/16 in. spanner, use the 7/16 in. spanner to loosen and remove A.
2) While holding C in place using a 9/16 in. spanner, use the 7/16 in. spanner to turn and loosen D.

2) While holding C in place using a 9/16 in. spanner, use the 7/16 in. spanner to turn and loosen D.
4. Open the filter tube and take out the sample filter element.
Grip both ends of the filter tube (B and C in the figure above) using 9/16 in. spanners and turn them counter-clockwise to open the filter tube.
NOTE: When opening the filter tube, be careful not to lose the washer, spring, or sample filter element.

5. Replace the sample filter element with a new one.
1) Replace the sample filter element with a new one and assemble the filter tube.
2) Attach the sample filter to the sample port piping by performing the removal procedure in reverse.
NOTE: Ensure that the filter tube is attached in the correct orientation so that the sample flows in the direction of the arrow indicated on the side of the filter tube.
