1. When replacing the PTFE seal and O-ring, check the following before stopping the instrument:
1) The sample lever must be at the "CLOSE" position.
2) The stop plug (enclosed part in the photo on the left) must be inserted in the DI introduction port of the sample introduction section.

3. When the guide rail is connected, loosen the knobs (two locations) on the side of the guide rail.
4. Draw the guide rail to the front to remove it.

7. Remove the washer between the cap nut and PTFE seal.
8. Remove the seal with a plastic rod or similar object.

9. Prepare a new PTFE seal and O-ring.
10. Attach the O-ring to the PTFE seal.
11. Attach the new seal to the sample introduction section.
12. Insert the washer between the cap nut and PTFE seal.
13. Lightly tighten the cap nut.
14. If the washer is out of place, re-center it with a plastic rod or similar object.
15. Fit in the stop plug. In this state, tighten the cap nut.

17. Remove the cable plug from the socket on the front panel.
18. Turn the knob to open the front door.
19. Gently open the front door by 90° or more.

20. Remove the screws (three locations) shown in the photo with a Phillips screwdriver.
21. Remove the retainer ring with tweezers.
22. Remove the seal shown in the photo on the left with a plastic rod or similar object. The procedure for removing this seal is the same as that for removing the seal on the DI introduction port side.

23. Attach the new seal. The procedure for attaching this seal is the same as that for attaching the seal on the DI introduction port side.
24. Set the retainer ring in place with tweezers, and tighten the screws (three locations) shown in the photo with a screwdriver.
25. Pass the positioning jig through, and check that the seals are not out of position.
If the positioning jig cannot pass through, loosen the screws (three locations) to adjust the seals.
After adjusting the seals, draw out the positioning jig.
Check the O-ring or O-ring contacting surface of the vacuum container to make sure they are free of dirt.

26. Turn the knob and re-attach the front door.
27. Use the positioning jig to make sure that the jig can be inserted up to its red line mark.

28. Insert the cable plug into the socket on the front panel.
29. Insert the vinyl hose.
30. Turn the GC/MS ON, and start up the [GCMS Real Time Analysis] program.
31. Click [Detail] at the instrument monitor.
32. Click the [Consumable] tab in the [Monitor Settings] sub-window.
Click the [Reset Consumables] button.
Click the [Reset Consumables] button.
33. In the [Reset Consumables] sub-window, enter "0" for the time of the newly replaced [DI].
Click the [OK] button. Click [OK] in the [Monitor Settings] sub-window to close it.

34. Automatically start up the GC/MS.
35. In the Peak Monitor sub-window, monitor water (m/z 18) and nitrogen (m/z 28) to check for any leaks.
