LabSolutions Insight offers the option to Save, Load, Export and Import Layouts.
These refer to the table layouts, with the relevant descriptors shown by column.
These do not cover the software layout i.e. windows e.g. location of calibration curve window
For certain applications it may be that it is beneficial to have certain descriptors visible.
Whereas for other applications it may be better to have other descriptors.
The layouts allow for these table views to be quickly switched between.
The first step is to define a preferred layout by adjusting the table(s) properties until the columns/ properties required are visible. Once this is done, in the View section, and in Options this layout can onw be Saved. The example below is a short layout (few columns utilised on the top right).
Once this layout is save, it allows it to be opened again, and the view will update to show these columns. However, perhaps another application requires other columns and different descriptors. This additional layout can also be saved (as below with the expanded layout).
Now, to show the shorter layout, it is as simple as opening it. Go to Open Layout (the open folder icon) and select the Short Layout from the list of layouts (as below).
This will then allow the software to change the table layout to the shorter layout (as below).
If you are moving this layout to another project or another workstation then the option to Export allows this layout these to be exported and used elsewhere. These are exported as .ibl files (Insight Browser Layout Files). Once these are available they can then be used on other workstations (noting that the software version should be the same to ensure these are read correctly).
