Releasing a file in use by another user

If a LabSolutions user has opened a file for processing, this file becomes read-only until the user finishes all processing and closes the file. The status is listed as 'Editing[User Name]'

In some cases (e.g. if the user has logged out before closing processing), the file may need to be released in order for other users to have read/write access to it. The procedure for releasing a file is below.

Note: to carry out this procedure, the operator must have the 'Release file' user right enabled.

• Open Post run, right click on the file, select 'Release File' and click 'OK'

OR

• Open Data Manager, right click on the file, select 'Release File' and click 'OK'

The released file will now become available to read/write for all users
