Server Licensing Requirements

Windows Server License

1 License per server (LabSolutions and Terminal Server)

Windows Access License

Device CAL is recommended: Each device which accesses services of the Windows server requires a device license. This device can then be used with this one license of several persons.

Microsoft SQL Server License
Server + CAL: A server license and a CAL license for a user (User CAL) or a device (Device CAL)
or
Core-based: Requires a license for a physical server core (minimum: 4 cores)
